A Mans Emotional Reaction to an Independent Woman: A Guy weighs in upon The Bachelorette Reality Television Episodes

She is the favorite topical centerpiece for women skilled in the fine art of casual light-hearted conversation. She is the favorite topic of chitchat among women all across America.

She is Trista, the Bachelorette. Trista was selected as a second runner up to finishing 1st place in the original ABC Reality program, The Bachelor. In the original ABC reality television program, The Bachelor, Amanda captured the heart of the Bachelor. Amanda was given the last rose, coveted by the remaining two finalists, Trista and Amanda. Trista left the show in tears.

Trista is back as The Bachelorette. Trista can help relieve competitive tension among groups of women coworker team members by becoming the topic of light-hearted casual conversation. Trista can energize a drab work atmosphere as women all across America engage in lively discussion about The Bachelorette ABC Reality Television show.

The hearts of women all across America flutter as women speculate upon which mans heart Trista will break on Wednesday night by not giving a rose too. The hearts of women all across America flutter as women speculate which man will remain standing as a chivalrous night in shining armor competing for the heart of the fair beauty, Trista.

What does The Bachelorette Reality Television Show mean to a man? The Bachelorette is not as fun to watch as The Bachelor. It is more fun to watch a show with 25 beauty queen contestants and just one masculine jock. The many muscle bound jocks competing for Tristas heart are clods who are annoying obstacles for a single guys who may be making mental notes to learn dating behaviors that can potentially please a raving beauty like Trista. I wonder if women who watch, The Bachelor episodes, tend to focus upon the gallant bachelor and block out the dainty foibles of women contestants?

What does the reality television show, The Bachelorette mean to a man? The Bachelorette reality television program provides unspoken underlying social commentary about the ever-changing gender based male and female roles played out among members of the opposite sex. How can a person understand the opposite sex if the opposite sex is constantly changing?

The Bachelorette reality television show makes clear and hits home one pivotal key point. Women are no longer passive creatures in terms of relationship issues. Women are now key decision makers in terms of relationship issues.

Historically, an assertive male tended to be attracted to passive females. In the evolutionary development of the human species, men broke their backs in hard labor pushing, lifting, and shoving big rocks and huge bulk processing machinery. Historically, men who broke their backs in hard labor pushing, lifting, and shoving big rocks and huge bulk machinery did not have time or energy for arbitration or negotiation pertaining to fine subtle points inherent within context of emotionally laden and volatile relationship issues. Thus, historically, men tended to be attracted to passive compliant females who accepted the dominant role played by the male.

In the 20th century, women began to assert their independence. Cigarette commercials aired on public television touted the famous slogan, We have come a long way, baby. Another famous television cigarette commercial played a lyrical melody containing the verse, you can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan, and never ever let him forget he is a man.

As society moves forward into the information age we are gradually moving away from bulk manufacturing processes requiring enormous human labor and toil (expenditure of energy) to operate big huge cumbersome machinery. A decrease in the amount of human labor and toil to operate heavy bulk manufacturing machinery provides men more time and energy to explore emotional topics. The move away from heavy bulk manufacturing processes, providing men more free time to explore emotional topics, is currently facilitated by development of microelectronics and new discoveries in nanotechnology.

Womens magazines and talk show television programs have steadily encouraged men to explore their emotions. Thus, I desire to write about an extremely emotional issue within the content of this feature article. Women should not be offended, as I am only following the advice of many women talk show host and magazine editors.

A word of warning, as I broach this emotionally laden hot topic pertaining to the independent woman and relationship issues. Jump back jack, and get ready for a breath-taking knock out punch like a swift kick from Kangaroo Jack ( http://kangaroojack.warnerbros.com/).

An issue that is a hot potato, in terms of relationships between men and women, is the issue of prenuptial agreements. Prenuptial agreements are legal arrangements between two people arbitrated before marriage with the help of a lawyer. A Prenuptial agreement is a clear concise legally binding lawful instrument that guides all issues pertaining to lawful settlement about how property will be divided in the event dissolution of the marriage (divorce) should become necessary.

Women tend to cry, if you need a prenuptial agreement you dont trust me. And, if you dont trust me, than you dont love me. The marriage is therefore off.

How can a woman possibly know how she will react to being in close daily confinement as well as sleeping for an extended period of time with the chosen marital partner? The man may have an annoying habit that a woman simply cannot live with. Marriage is difficult because it forces the human social animal to constantly put up a front of being socially refined and civilized even during those few precious moments reserved for very private personal times.

Divorce is always on the table for at least 10 to 20 years during the early stage of holy matrimony. After a 10 to 20 year period of successful wedded bliss the probability of divorce is gradually diminished or falls off the table. It may take anywhere from 10 to 20 years to build a strong harmonious marital relationship.

The ABC Reality television show, The Bachelorette, demonstrates women are no longer passive creatures in terms of relationship issues. If women are no longer passive creatures in terms of relationship issues men have more right to assert prenuptial agreements are a necessary prerequisite to marriage.

Traditionally, men have shouldered all the risk and responsibility for marriage. Women tend to be treated more favorably in divorce court.

The task of selecting one person to become a lifetime partner as a mate is an extremely complex daunting task. Despite strong desire to find love and fulfillment in marriage, many men and women remain single all their natural lives due to complexity of finding and choosing the RIGHT person for a lifetime marital relationship.

Steven Carter and Julie Sokol wrote a New York Times bestseller entitled, Men Who Cant Love: How To Recognize a Commitment Phobic Man Before He Breaks Your Heart. The book Men Who Cant Love by Steven Carter and Julie Sokol is an excellent book I highly recommend. The book Men Who Cant Love: How To Recognize a Commitment Phobic Man Before He Breaks Your Heart provides vital information to help women protect themselves from emotionally erratic commitment phobic men.

In all fairness it is only right from a male point of view to emphasize how difficult it is for a person to select a lifetime partner for a marital relationship. Traditionally, men shoulder most of the responsibility for starting and maintaining a relationship.

Socrates said, Know Thyself. In order to know thy self a person has to be exposed to a wide variety of situations and life events. An exposure to a wide variety of life situations and events allows a person to develop a repertoire of new behaviors. A large percentage of the human population, who possess limited means and income, learn very little about themselves over a span of many decades.

Hence, it is easily understood how a person of average means and income may have difficulty selecting a lifetime marital partner. In the future, an increase in computation power combined with artificial intelligence may allow people to virtually experience a wide variety of life situations and events in a much shorter time frame, thus greatly expanding the horizons of an individual.

A man who knows very little about himself and possess a limited repertoire of refined social behavior may have to date several women during the course of a lifetime to discover who he wants to spend the rest of his natural life with on earth. Dating is a time intensive task. A man must juggle demands of an active social life and career. Many men may fear losing a female friend and therefore hide multiple relationships. Such men may be quickly branded as a player.

Today, women are active independent decision makers. Reality television shows such as, The Bachelorette, make it amply clear that women are independent decision makers.

Why do men of average means and income have to shoulder all the responsibility for relationships? Why do men of average means and income have to shoulder all the risk of making a mistake selecting the wrong lifetime marital partner? Why do men of average income and means have to risk having their entire life crushed and demolished in divorce court?

In a highly competitive society with limited resources, we as a collective society vigorously try to create a class of people who are transformed into losers. The members of society who fall into the loser classification forfeit the right to own property and suffer a diminished financial capacity to enjoy new satisfying relationships.

The envy factor may operate in divorce courts to transform and reclassify men as losers. In a highly competitive society with limited resources an individual who goes after the big money has more opportunity to propagate and provide for offspring. The ability to propagate and provide for offspring requires liquidity and cash flow.

The need for liquidity and cash flow can translate into the envy factor in divorce court and allow men who make mistakes in relationships to become easy targets for reassignment to a loser class of individuals. Generally, society wants to quickly slap the label of loser upon somebody to increase available material resources to those in position to capitalize. Men who make mistakes in relationships become easy targets for reassignment to a loser class of individuals because male sexual behavior is often viewed with suspicion.

A thorny complicated issue pertaining to divorce proceedings is the issue of child custody and support. Women who are given custodial care of children in divorce court have an advantage. The living expense for both the woman and child is a category of material goods that functionally overlap. A woman who may receive child support from an ex husband can use that money to pay such living expenses as rent. The woman benefits from the rent subsidy as well as the child thus the child effectively becomes a preferential choice of a roommate.

A woman may marry another man and still receive child support benefits. The ex husband who may not be earning a living wage may have to work an excessive amount of overtime to pay child support. The excessive amount of overtime restricts the amount of time the man is able to visit his children. It is understandable how some men may get frustrated, throw up their hands, and hit the open road toward a journey into homelessness.

If women are independent decision makers than courts should reevaluate the male and female role in divorce proceedings. Some women decide to have children by in vitro fertilization without the complexity of marriage. Such women take upon themselves complete total financial responsibility for children. If women have the option as decision makers to take upon themselves the financial responsibility of children outside marriage, then women who have children within marriage should likewise be held more accountable for their choice to have children.

Trista should bring up the topic of prenuptial agreements with her remaining beaus during the final Bachelorette television shows. Trista may eliminate all the Bachelor contenders and decide not to give the last rose to anyone.

DARK REUNION

A Short Story by Joan Hall Hovey

Laurie arrived at the reunion alone. David had begged off, saying he didn’t even plan on going to his own reunion, but encouraging her to go and have a good time. “Those things can dredge up a lot of adolescent garbage,” he’d said. Later, his words would come back to haunt her.

When she was dressed, she did a little whirl in front of him, and was rewarded with a whistle. “Hey, I’m not so sure I should let you go alone. You look too damn good.”

“You don’t think it’s too short.”

“Yeah, actually I do. Why don’t you wear your old plaid nightshirt over it? It’s in your drawer. I’ll get it.”

She laughed and kissed him goodbye.

It was an hour’s flight from Halifax to Saint John. She took a cab from her mother’s. And now that she was here, she wasn’t sure why. She’d never been in the clique, part of the “in-crowd.” Still, there were a few people she was looking forward to seeing again. Dodie, her best friend, wouldn’t be here; she’d gotten her nursing degree and moved to the states.

The gym was bright and noisy, festive with red and blue balloons (the school colors), streamers and flowers. A mingling of perfumes and good food wafted to her as she scanned the crowd for a familiar face. She spotted Harold Thomas across the room, doing a slow move to the beat of Barry Manilou’s Mandy blaring from the sound system. He held a glass of punch in his hand, and his eyes were closed. Laurie smiled, remembering. Short and squat, Harold was never much to look at, but he was a terrific dancer. The girls had stood in line to dance with him. “Me, next, Harold. You promised.” She’d seen his picture in the paper a few times over the years. He’d made a success of himself in the insurance business. He didn’t look any different, just older.

She turned to see a woman in a purple pantsuit rushing toward her, smiling hugely, finally wrapping her in a warm Chanel fragrant embrace. “My God, Laurie Stevens, dark and adorable as ever. You look the same as you did in high school.” She held her at arm’s length. “You have no idea who in the hell I am, do you?”

Well, I…” Laurie wracked her brain.

“Can’t blame you. I’ve put on a few pounds. I’m…”

“Alice Moore,” Laurie jumped in, grateful to have remembered. “Of course I do. It’s great to see you again,” she said, meaning it. “How are you?”

“Not so bad. The name’s Dowling now. Divorced,” she added with an apologetic shrug.

Alice had always been a warm, friendly person, but fiercely competitive, especially in sports. Both women turned as a male voice greeted them. Laurie recognized that sexy, boyish grin at once. She’d had such a crush on Aaron Hamilton, while all he could see was blond, popular Jillian Thorne. He was still tall and good-looking, but his thick sandy hair was a thing of the past. He got in a couple of bald jokes before anyone else could. Other people joined them, and at some point they all gravitated toward the buffet table, in particular, the punch bowl. Someone said it was generously laced.

Aaron related the story of the time when meek, soft-spoken Miss Ruth Bell grabbed Derek Speight (a foot taller than her) by the front of his shirt, and slammed him up against the blackboard. Derek was always cutting up in class, but for some reason on this particular Monday morning he’d pressed her wrong (or right, depending on how you looked at it) buttons. He’d put up a hand to defend himself, and Miss Bell said, in an unintentional Clint Eastwood impression, “I know karate. Don’t fool with me, boy.”

A howl of laughter went up around the table. Aaron always could tell a story. Back then, of course, they’d dared only a few nervous giggles behind their books. And Eastwood wasn’t yet a household name.

Someone said Derek died of a heart attack last year, and the laughter trickled off.

Laurie had just bitten a cube of cheddar off a toothpick when she saw Jillian Thorne heading in their direction, looking like something out of vogue in a yellow strapless number, her handsome doctor husband in tow. The local paper did a big spread when she married heart surgeon, Doctor Eric Wilson. Laurie thought he looked uncomfortable. The way David would have looked if he’d come.

Within minutes Jillian grabbed center stage, just like in the old days. She kept touching Aaron’s arm while she talked animatedly. Laurie felt herself go quiet inside, just like she used to when Jillian was anywhere near her. You’re a grown woman with two grown children, she reminded herself. It didn’t help. David was right. There was something slightly masochistic about these things. She drifted off with her glass of punch, a half-smile on her face. I’ll give it an hour. Then I’m out of here.

“Hello, Laurie.”

Laurie turned to see a stunning woman in a caramel silk suit-dress, the skirt coming nearly to her ankles, the shirt loose and flowing, smiling tentatively at her. Straight auburn hair ending just below her ears gleamed like satin under the lights. “Elegant” was the word that came to mind. Laurie stared hard, but nothing clicked in. “I’m sorry, I …it’s my eyes. I don’t see as well as…”

The woman smiled and put out a hand. “You always were so nice. Always caring of other people’s feelings.”

Now that they were standing face to face, Laurie sensed something familiar about the woman. She has beautiful eyes, clear as crystal pools.

“You probably don’t remember me. I’m Margaret Dross.”

For a moment, Laurie couldn’t answer. “Margaret,” she said at last, trying not to look as stunned as she felt. “Of course - I remember you. You look fabulous. What are you doing now? Are you married? Is your husband with you?” My God, I can’t believe this woman is the same girl who sat at the back of the room, with the stringy hair and glasses and those tiny eyes behind them practically lost in all that flesh. So painfully shy, far worse than I ever was. And that mother - always coming to the school to make sure she came directly home, ranting at her within everyone’s hearing. Someone told her Mrs. Dross was a religious fanatic.

“No to both your questions,” Margaret said. “I still live with my mother on Douglas Avenue. She’s not so well these days. I work as a bookkeeper with Howe and Rivers, a law firm. I have my own office in the back. A cubbyhole, actually, but I like it.”

That’s great, Margaret. You were always a whiz at math.”

“I like the way I can make things come out even in the end,” she smiled.

Laurie had a flash memory of Margaret walking alone the school corridor, shoulders hunched forward, shoelaces clicking on the polished floor.

A peal of laughter drifted from the buffet table. “I can use a little more of that punch, Margaret. How about you?” She touched a hand to the woman’s shoulder. “Makes things more tolerable. Come on. I bet you haven’t eaten anything, either.”

Margaret drew back, a trace of fear coming into her face. “No, it’s okay. I’m not really hungry. You go ahead, though. I think I’ll just walk around a little.” She smiled again as she moved away. “You look really pretty, Laurie. That color of blue matches your eyes.”

Laurie understood her reluctance to go into the lion’s den. School couldn’t have been much fun for Margaret. She was always alone. Sometimes Laurie would seek her out, share her sandwich. So why is she here, Laurie wondered, if not to show off how great she looks now? Damn, I really want Jillian to see her. I want Jillian’s husband to see her. Nasty, Laurie. Nasty.

When she returned to the table to refill her glass, the good doctor was just pocketing his pager, apologizing for having to rush off, leaving Jillian with a long-suffering smile on her face. Laurie thought he looked secretly relieved, and wondered if maybe he hadn’t arranged to be called away.

You have such a devious mind, Laurie Stevens Dobson.

Laurie didn’t see Margaret again until she was leaving. A few taxis were lined up in front of the building. Margaret caught up with her as she was going down the wide cement steps.

“Hi, Laurie. I have my car here. Can I give you a ride?”

“Well, thanks, but I don’t know if it’s on your way…”

“It doesn’t matter. I don’t have anywhere special to go. I guess you’re staying with your mom while you’re here, huh? Is she still on Visart?”

“Yes, I’m surprised you remem…”

“I remember a lot of things, Laurie. It’s that blue station-wagon right there.” She unlocked and opened the door. “Hop in.”

“Well, thanks, Margaret, this is great.” Laurie slid into the passenger seat. The car smelled faintly of dry-cleaning, leather and Vick’s cough drops. “This is really sweet of you. I appreciate it. And it will give us a chance to get caught up.”

“You have two boys,” Margaret said, smiling, surprising Laurie yet again. “Your husband’s into computers.” She switched on the ignition, and the car purred to life. “I never did find Mr. Right. What with the job and taking care of Mom there hasn’t been much time for socializing.”

“Oh,” Laurie said, nodding, wondering why they were just sitting here with the motor running. When she felt something hard pressing into her ribs, she looked down, thinking it was probably the buckle of an errant seatbelt. Seeing the gun in Margaret’s hand, she felt only bewilderment. And then she thought maybe it was some kind of weird “reunion” joke. Until she looked up, into Margaret’s eyes. “Margaret, what are…?”

“Just be calm, Laurie. It’s not you I want to hurt. You were always nice to me. I didn’t know quite how I was going to manage to get Jillian into the car, but it’s all worked out well. Her husband being called away like that was a stroke of luck. Yes, there she is now, just coming out of the building. Call her, Laurie. Tell her we’ll give her a ride wherever she’s going.”

“Margaret, don’t do this. This is crazy…”

“Call her, Laurie.” The gun jabbed her ribs, making her wince. “Call her before she gets into that taxi or you’ll be sorry.”

Past the tightness in her throat, Laurie called to Jillian out the passenger window. The smell of the Atlantic and the oil refinery east of the city came in the window on the warm May air. Say no, JIllian. Be the snooty bitch you always were and say no. But she didn’t say no. In fact, after peering in the window she smiled her cheerleader smile and hopped into the back seat. “This is great. Thanks a million. I thought I’d be able to get a lift with Aaron, but he’s got someone coming to pick him up. His wife. Hey, it’s still early, ladies. Why don’t we all go for a drink? I know a place that has a terrific little jazz band.”

Jillian sounded as if she’d already dipped into the punch bowl a time too many. “That sounds like a fun idea, doesn’t it, Margaret?”

Margaret shot her a look. Laurie fell silent.

“Margaret?” Jillian leaned over the back seat to closer scrutinize her driver. “I can’t remember any Margaret in our class except for ..” She let out a small chuckle and Laurie’s stomach sank. “But she’s obviously not you, dear. Whose class were you in?”

The car bolted forward, nearly striking the taxi in front; the driver made an obscene gesture at them. Margaret didn’t slow down until they were halfway up Main Street, then she made a sharp right, pulling into an alley between a barber shop and the Army Surplus. She turned in her seat, trained the gun on Jillian.

“You get in the passenger seat, Jillian. Laurie, you drive. I’ll get in the back.”

“What is this?” Jillian said, indignant. “Is this some kind of sick jo…” Before she could complete the sentence, Margaret struck out with the gun. At the sickening crack, Laurie instinctively made a grab for the weapon. And in the next instant found herself staring down the barrel.

“Don’t be stupid, Laurie.”

“Okay,” Laurie whispered, drawing back. She glanced behind her to see Jillian sitting with her hand pressed against her cheek, weeping softly. A rivulet of dark blood ran down between her fingers. “Why?” she whimpered. “Who are you?”

“I’m getting out now,” Margaret said, with deadly softness. “You get in the passenger seat, Jillian, like I told you.”

The alley was so narrow there was barely room for them to squeeze through the doors, but at last they were all in their assigned places.

Jillian sat beside her, still clutching her face, but she had stopped crying. The clock on the dash said 10:55 p.m. Laurie told her mom she’d be home by eleven, or call if she just happened to be having too good a time. Right.

Back it out slow,” Margaret said in her ear. Laurie felt the heat of the gun on the back of her head.

Five minutes later they were turning into a paved drive on Douglas Avenue. You couldn’t see the colour of the house at night, but Laurie knew it was white, Victorian-style, fronted by a high cedar hedge, ancient elms, like sentinels, on either side. She’d passed it many times on her way to the museum, though she never knew that Margaret lived here.

Margaret ushered them into the foyer. Even before she switched on the light, Laurie could smell the dark mustiness of the house, the oppressiveness. The smell of Vick’s was in the air. And something else - something dark, deeper, that Laurie couldn’t discern.

Limp, yellowing doilies caressed the backs and arms of overstuffed furniture. A dust-covered piano stood against the far wall. The rug Laurie stood on was Oriental, its design barely visible. A grandfather clock stood in the corner beneath the staircase, its pendulum still.

Margaret reached for their coats as pleasantly as if this were a social call she and Jillian were making, and Margaret was the welcoming hostess. She’s mad, Laurie thought. Margaret is stark, raving mad. As she began to unbutton her beige trench coat she considered whipping it at Margaret in an attempt to knock the gun from her hand. But what if she missed? The gun in her old classmate’s hand was as steady as those contact-lens emerald, eyes. The moment when Laurie might have done something came and went. She would wait for a better opportunity, catch her off-guard, she thought, as Margaret paraded them at gunpoint through a small hallway into the kitchen.

She shoved Jillian into a hard-back chair near an old-fashioned wood burning stove that took up most of one wall. David had an avid interest in antiques; he would have loved this stove - this house, in fact.

Margaret handed Laurie a length of white cord from the table which stood in front of the window. A green window blind shut out the world. “Tie her up.”

A light bulb hung from the ceiling by a chain, casting the kitchen in greasy light. Laurie saw the narrow back door; it was bolted. She wondered how long it would take her to release the bolt. What was out there? A shed? Another locked door? Booby traps?

Dishes were piled in a chipped enamel sink. The place smelled.

“She was always a lazy, demanding woman,” Margaret said, as if reading Laurie’s thoughts. “She made me do all the housework when I was in school, and even after I went out to work. You can see I’ve become quite slovenly myself of late. I apologize for that. But I’ve grown to hate this house so much, I can’t bear to put a dustcloth to it…I said tight, Laurie,” Margaret grabbed the cord from Laurie’s hands, gave it a hard yank that made Jillian cry out. “Use a little elbow grease, as my dear Momma use to say.” Margaret giggled, and the sound sent chills along Laurie’s spine.

With silent apology, averting her eyes from Jillian’s, Laurie drew the rope taut around those pale, thin wrists.

“Good. Now wind the cord around those two back middle rungs, and knot it double. Then do her ankles.”

Jillian was trying for her old arrogant expression and failing miserably. You could see she was terrified. She isn’t the only one, Laurie thought. Blood seeped from the cut on Jillian’s cheekbone. Smears of it had dried on the front of her yellow dress. For the first time ever, Laurie felt sorry for Jillian.

As Laurie was making the final knot, Margaret suddenly stepped forward and grabbed a handful of Jillian’s hair and snapped her head back. ‘How does it feel? How does it feel to be trapped, Jillian? To feel yourself at someone else’s mercy? But you had no mercy, did you, Jillian?”

Blood pounded hot in Laurie’s own ears at the sound of Jillian’s sobs and pleas. “Please, I have money. My husband will…”

“Shut up!”

The room was silent, waiting.

I have to do something. That “just right moment” wasn’t going to present itself just for her convenience. If there was to be any opportunity for escape, she would have to create it. Though Margaret’s attention was on Jillian, she also kept a wary eye on Laurie. Laurie wondered if she could overtake her. It wasn’t likely. Margaret was bigger, certainly taller, and probably a hell of a lot stronger, much of her strength born of rage. Maybe if Jillian hadn’t been tied up, the two of them together…

This is a nightmare, isn’t it? Any second now I’ll wake up and Mom and I will laugh about this dream I’m having. You read about this sort of thing. You saw it played out on the movie screen while you filled your face with popcorn. But it never happened to you, or to anyone connected with you.

Laurie steeled herself. “Margaret, I have to go to the bathroom. All that punch, you know…” She tried to smile.

“Sure, Laurie.” She waved the gun in the direction of the living room. “Upstairs, second door on the left.”

“It’s okay then if…”

“Of course.”

Taken aback at having had her request so readily granted, she mumbled her thanks and went through the hallway with tentative steps, half thinking that it was a trick and that any second a bullet would slam into her back. She didn’t let out her breath until she was out of Margaret’s view.

The front door seemed a mile away, as if she were looking at it through the wrong end of a telescope. She was sure Margaret hadn’t locked it.

Her coat was draped over the sofa-back with Jillian’s. She tiptoed toward it, grateful for the silent carpet beneath her feet. She wouldn’t stop running until she got to the hotel, then she’d call the police. She reached for her coat.

“I’ll kill her the minute you close the door after you, Laurie,” Margaret called out, as calmly as if she were asking her to pick up a loaf of bread on the way. For one shameful instant Laurie asked herself what Jillian had ever done for her that she should leave her own life in danger. Then she turned and resignedly went up the stairs.

Laurie quickly checked the two bedrooms on the right. The second room smelled more strongly of Vick’s and just faintly of rosewater. An open Bible lay on the night table. Beside it, nearly hidden by wads of Kleenex, was a phone. Heart racing, Laurie eased the receiver from its cradle and put it to her ear. There was a kind of “whooshing” sound, like you heard when you listened into a seashell. Laurie pressed the button a couple of time, trying to get a dial tone. She’d call her mom. It was the only number she could recall at the moment.

Suddenly, the “whooshing” stopped, replaced by the terrifying sound of Margaret’s voice. “Hang it up, Laurie.”

Laurie’s heart shot into her throat. “Margaret. I was just calling my mom. She’ll be worr…”

“Hang it up. Now. You’ve got two minutes to get down here. You really disappoint me, Laurie. I thought you understood.” The phone clicked off.

A green enamelled clawfoot tub dominated the bathroom. A plastic curtain was drawn across it. After the shock of hearing Margaret’s voice on the phone, Laurie really did have to go. Seated there, listening to the slow drip, drip, drip of water into the tub, something - something, made her reach out and take an edge of curtain in her hand and draw it back - slowly, very slowly, as if in some part of her mind she already knew what she would find.

The woman’s splayed feet were revealed to her first. They were swollen, with dark bluish toenails that badly needed cutting. Her mottled flesh was white as bread dough. Laurie did not remember her being such a large woman. Mrs. Dross would not have fit in Laurie’s small apartment-sized tub. Pale eyes stared up at her from beneath a skim of water. Her mouth was slightly open, to reveal loose dentures. Tendrils of wispy grey hair floated about her face.

She managed to draw the curtains across. In the hallway she closed her eyes and sagged against the wall. The image of the corpse remained behind her lids. She fought to keep from passing out. Bile rose bitter in her throat. She had to get hold of herself. Margaret musn’t know I saw her. Oh, my God, she murdered her mother.

Jillian was sitting docilely in the chair, watching Laurie enter the kitchen. She was drawn, and so pale Laurie could see the scars at the corner of her eyes from her eyelift. The tears had washed away the makeup. The cut on her cheekbone was swollen and discolored.

I have to do something. “Could we have tea - or coffee?” Laurie asked, forcing a smile at their captor. “You’ve been terribly hurt, Margaret. We need to talk about it.”

“Talking won’t make the dreams go away. You don’t know what she did to me, Laurie.”

“I think I do.”

“Did you know she took pictures of me in the gym shower and showed them around the school?”

Laurie had a vague recollection of talk surrounding the incident. She wouldn’t have been one of the people shown the pictures. She shook her head.

“People whispered and laughed behind my back. The boys said ugly, horrible things to me, right out. I told my mother, but she just said I must have done something to deserve it. She said it was punishment from God…No, no tea or coffee, Laurie. Sorry. There won’t be time.”

“I didn’t mean any harm, Margaret,” Jillian said in a small voice. “It was all in fun. We were kids. I never even thought of it again.”

Whatever she had to drink, she’s sober now. “Fun for you, maybe” Laurie said, turning on a startled Jillian. “You were always one who liked having a laugh at someone else’s expense. You need to understand what you did. You need to atone.” Please, please let this work.

Jillian twisted in the chair. The tears came again. “Why are you ganging up with her?”

“Why not? You always travelled with your little gang.” Laurie glanced at the owl clock on the wall. Mom will be looking for me by now. She’ll be putting on water for tea, wanting to hear all about the evening. Would she get to tell her?

“One thing I did always wonder about,” Margaret said, lowering the gun a little. “Why me, Jillian? Why were you so cruel? What did I ever do to make you hate me so much?”

“Nothing. I didn’t hate you. I didn’t…”

Laurie thought that was probably true. Margaret had meant nothing to Jillian. She was as insignificant as a fly on the windowsill, except as a target, an amusement.

“Do you remember daring Jason Belding to ask me to the school dance, Jillian?”

“No,” she whispered.

“I thought he really liked me. Oh, at first I couldn’t believe he actually wanted to take me out, but he was really nice. He said he couldn’t pick me up because he had to work late, but that he’d meet me at the dance. I spent all my baby-sitting money on a new dress. It was the first time I dared to wear lipstick. I had to sneak out of the house. When I got there, he was with someone else, one of your friends. He looked kind of embarassed, like he felt bad. You had this smirk on your face, so I knew right away you pushed him to do it. Everyone always wanted to please you, Jillian. You had it all. Everything your way.”

“You’re wrong, Margaret,” Jillian said. “You…”

“Do you remember following me one day?” Margaret went on. “Chanting ‘here pig here pig, oink, oink’,” Margaret hunched over, crossed the floor and back, as she mimicked the ugly words that would never leave her. For an instant, looking at her, Laurie was reminded of Sally Fields in the role of Sybil. “Do you remember that?” Margaret asked, stopping.

Jillian shifted her eyes.

She remembered. As did Laurie. She’d tried to make them stop, but they wouldn’t. She could still hear the stomp, stomp, stomp of those feet following behind Margaret’s, marking time with the hateful chant. The momentum and volume seemed to take on a life of its own. It was horrible. And then Margaret lost her rhythm, stumbled and fell on the broken sidewalk. She was crawling around, sobbing, feeling about for her glasses. Laurie picked them up out of the gutter and helped her up. Her knees and hands were bleeding. Jillian and her pals had gone off, laughing.

“It was twenty years ago, for God’s sake, Margaret,” Jillian said, to Laurie’s utter amazement. “You should be over it by now.”

“Over it?” Margaret said quietly.

Jillian strained against the ropes. “Do it then,” she cried. “Just go ahead and get it over with. Maybe it will make you feel better to know my life is crap these days. My 15-year old daughter ran away six months ago because she hates me, and I have no idea where the hell she is. My husband is divorcing me to marry some little slut nurse at the hospital. And I’m well on my way to becoming a full-fledged alcoholic. So if you want to kill me, Margaret, then please, please, just do it. The truth be known, you’d be doing me a favor.”

Confusion came into Margaret’s face. Who would have thought Jillian Thorne’s life could be anything but perfect?

“You would punish her more by letting her live. Margaret, you don’t want to hurt anyone. You’d be no better than your tormentors, then. You’d be no better than Jillian. Don’t you see that? Please, give me the gun.”

“She was all I had. She’s gone now.”

She’s talking about her mother. She knows I saw her. “What happened, Margaret? What made you…?”

Margaret looked momentarily bewildered then her eyes widened in surprise. “I didn’t do anything, Laurie. I wouldn’t hurt my mother. I love her. She had a heart attack. I - found her when I got home from work today. The doctor kept telling her she needed to lose weight, but she wouldn’t listen.”

It hadn’t occurred to Laurie she’d died of natural causes. Relieved, she said, “We should call an ambulance.”

“Don’t you think it’s a little late for that?”

“They’d take her to the morgue. Or we could call the police.”

“Not yet. I’m dead too, you know. So she has to die. Because of her I have nothing. No one.”

“Margaret, you’re not dead. You were a victim of childish cruelty, but it’s over now. You could have your pick of men. Take a look at yourself in the mirror, girl. You could be a model.”

Margaret smiled thinly. “It’s a costume.”

Her words hung in the air.

“I’m sorry, Margaret,” Jillian said. “I didn’t know…”

“Sure you did.” She raised the gun.

It was now or never. Not daring to give it further thought, Laurie went into a crouch, dove at Margaret, pulling off a tackle Joe Namath would have been proud of. The gun flew out of Margaret’s hand and slid across the linoleum floor under the table. Laurie rolled off Margaret, scrambled after it, banged her knee on the table leg.

Margaret’s hand clamped around her ankle, tried to drag her back, but too late. Flinging herself on her back, Laurie gripped the gun with both hands, aimed it squarely at Margaret.

Margaret’s eyes filled. “I thought you were my friend, Laurie.”

“I am,” she gasped, removing one hand from the gun to rub the fire from her knee. “Believe me, I am.”

It was after two in the morning when she arrived at her mother’s in a taxi. Officer Jason Belding had offered to have someone drive her, but she knew it would frighten her mother to see her pull up in a police car. Jason had assured her that Margaret wouldn’t serve any jail time, since no one was interested in pressing charges. True to form, once Jillian knew she was safe she was ready to throw Margaret to the wolves, but Laurie convinced her she owed her a break.

Margaret would get the help she needed and deserved. Jason thought she would be allowed to attend her mom’s funeral, escorted of course. Laurie planned to be there, too. She would call David in the morning and explain.

“You really must have had a great time,” her mother said, busying herself with teapot and cups, despite the hour. “Tell me everything.”

Laurie smelled freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Her favorite.

There but for the grace of God — and Mom.

“You wouldn’t believe it. You just wouldn’t believe it.”

“Can You Solve This Mystery?”Gary Simpson

I have devised a little mystery for you. I hope you will find this not only a stimulating exercise but also a bit of fun. If you like puzzles you will like this. At the very least I guarantee it will get you thinking!

(It is a bit difficult to grasp on-line so you might just like to scan it now then print it for later, when you have more time. You might even like to hand it to the resident genius in your family. We all have one living under the same roof, don’t we?)

Here it is:

“A Mystery for You to Solve…”

by

Gary Simpson

I am posting this here for your intrigue and enjoyment. However, feel free to share this little mystery with any of your friends by forwarding it on to them. (Tip - The best method for solving the mystery is to print it out then draw a diagram on a sheet of paper to answer the clues).

Anybody who has visited my website at Motivation & Self Esteem for Success ( http://www.motivationselfesteem.com ) or has read any of the many articles I have written will realize what a proponent I am of reading books and educating yourself. If you want to become successful at anything you simply must do this, in my opinion.

However, not everything you learn and/or read is of equal value. As the world’s store of information becomes exponentially greater, almost by the minute, you must learn to become more and more discerning about what you read and believe.

With this in mind, I believe you need to understand five basic things:

1 - Find out what you are interested in,

2 - Look for information on subjects of interest,

3 - Search for constants to confirm your understanding,

4 - Filter out needless information and garbage from real knowledge,

5 - Act only on what you believe to be the truth.

To demonstrate the above points I have devised a little mystery for you. I hope you will find this not only a stimulating exercise but also a bit of fun.

Listed below is a set of 16 clues to a murder investigation involving the occupants of five consecutive houses. They are all you need to solve the mystery of “Who Killed Who.”

The “Who Killed Who” Murder Mystery Clues:

1 - The Motivator plays bowls on Saturday.

2 - When facing the houses, the house with the blue roof is immediately to the right of the house with the grey roof.

3 - The man in the middle house plays golf twice a week.

4 - The woman in the house with the blue roof is a hockey player.

5 - The Scientist lives in the first house, near the cheesecake shop.

6 - The person who drives a Jaguar lives next to the man with the Dalmatian.

7 - The person who lives in the house with the red roof drives a Renault.

8 - The Scientist lives in the house next to the house with the green roof.

9 - The Accountant’s house has a Volkswagen parked in the driveway.

10 - The man who drives the Lexus owns a Shitzhu.

11 - The Doctor lives in the house with the brown roof.

12 - The house with the Renault in the driveway is next to the house next door to where the Doberman lives.

13 - The murderer’s Poodle went missing on Sunday.

14 - The Lawyer hates dogs but loves cheesecake.

15 - The man who drives the Porsche is a keen jogger and was seen running past the victim’s house just after midnight on Wednesday.

16 - The victim used to enjoy playing lacrosse on Tuesday evenings.

If you solve the mystery all the clues will fit together like a successful crossword puzzle. There is a logical answer. If you are having difficulty you can get help by finding a starting list of the above clues in their correct order from my website (They’re not too hard to find!) at Motivation & Self Esteem for Success ( http://www.motivationselfesteem.com )

You can confirm your answer to the mystery by leaving your email address at Section 3.0 on our HOME page, checking the box and typing who you think the culprit is.

If you would like to drive all your friends crazy with this you may copy it and send it to them providing nothing is changed and the full contents, including the links remain intact.

I hope you find this an interesting exercise. Happy problem solving and remember - books are a wonderful source of education.

Best Wishes,

Gary Simpson.

Preservation of Idealogical Integrity of Nations Where U.

Mark Gaffney

The concept of high-level government commissions to preserve ideological structure in nations where the U.N. may need to intervene may be a concept that can ease fears of an ideological take over.

Does a religious ultra conservative society have the right to remain ultra conservative?

An act of ignoring ideological differences between American and Middle East culture is an obstacle to peace without bloodshed. An attempt to ignore ideological differences between American and Middle East culture is an effort to not light a fuse leading to emotional escalation of the crisis.

Ultra conservative Muslim societies may fear an United Nations intervention in Iraq may open the door to ideological westernization of ultra conservative Muslim societies in the Middle East. Iraqs history of military conflict and defiance of its Arab neighbors may be a fearful response of an ultra conservative society to ideological westernization of ultra conservative Arab culture.

In my feature article entitled, My Two Cents: A Peace Proposal No One on Earth May have Contemplated, I explore fears ultra conservative societies may have in relation to western culture. The following is a poignant observation I made within the content of my feature article:

One of the major criticisms of free democratic societies is that freedom can become a license for immorality. The observation that freedom can become a license for immorality is a very valid criticism of free democratic societies.

A clear statement of major goals and final outcomes of United Nations intervention can reduce the fear of ideological westernization of ultra conservative Muslim societies.

The ultimate goal and final outcome of United Nations intervention should be increased stability in the Middle East achieved by complete total disarmament of Iraq. The ultimate reason to increase stability in the Middle East is for the safety and welfare of every Arab citizen.

Iraqs pattern of military conflict with its Arab neighbors demonstrates Iraq is quick to resort to military conquest as a solution to perceived Middle East problems. In the future, scientific development of new emerging technology, such as nanotechnology and intelligent missile systems, may allow Iraq to gain access to powerful more deadly weapons that can be used to conquer neighboring Arab countries. The world is becoming more dangerous day by day.

In order to demonstrate dedication to the right of ultra conservative societies to remain ultra conservative the United Nations should consider a motion to declare the right of ultra conservative societies of every religion to pass and uphold laws preventing organizing religious movements within a country where United Nations intervention becomes necessary.

The sharing of faith may be less strict. Every spiritual person of every faith likes to share. The act of sharing from person to person allows every major religious movement to grow and prosper. The need of sharing and education is a mutual beneficial goal.

However, an act of sharing and organizing are two different processes. An act of organizing can cross a line to challenge the belief system of ultra conservative societies. The love and caring individuals show for one another is more important than a display of great knowledge each person may have.

The love and caring each person shows for one another is more important than organizing a powerful bureaucratic institution. A powerful bureaucratic institution will fade away anyhow.

As a world leader, Pope John Paul set an example of humility, by making apologies for wrongs the church may have committed during attempts to conquer many centuries ago.

The world has changed. Sheer brute force may have been necessary to survive many centuries ago. Sheer brute force is not as critical to survival today because of greater resources made available by technological innovation.

Of course, every human on earth should have the fundamental right to be free from torture, beatings, starvation, and false imprisonment based on the choice of an individual to embrace different believes. The United Nations should actively work to insure basic human rights of an individual. If an individual should decide to follow a more moderate path that individual should have the freedom to move to another country without having family members left behind victimized by torture.

In the content of my feature article entitled, My Two Cents: A Peace Proposal No One on Earth May have Yet Contemplated, I propose the use of high-level government commissions as a tool to preserve ideological integrity of ultra conservative religious societies.

The concept of high-level government commissions to preserve ideological structure in nations where the U.N. may need to intervene may be a concept that can ease fears of an ideological take over. Every society should have the freedom to maintain values they as a people hold dear.

Preservation of the ideological integrity of ultra conservative societies may help prevent formation of a one world government. The formation of a one world government may dilute ultra conservative religious values. The dilution of ultra conservative religious values may allow world domination by a powerful dictator.

The United Nations should declare major goals of (1)social stability and (2) dedication to basic fundamental human rights. The United Nations should make it extremely clear that it does not support or facilitate ideological take over.

A pure simple dedication to social stability and basic fundamental human rights implies a huge United Nations financial investment in a country. A financial investment in a region where the United Nations intevenes to help provide more social stability and insure basic human rights should not require ideological change of any kind. The possibility of a huge United Nations financial investment should be an incentive to induce peaceful cooperation.

My Two Cents: A Peace Proposal No One on Earth May have Contemplated.Mark Gaffney

Dan Rather’s exclusive interview Saddam Hussein inspired me to contemplate a new peace proposal.

My Two Cents:
A Peace Proposal No One on Earth
May have Yet Contemplated

I do not wish to advocate for or against war with Iraq in the content of this feature article. Recently, so many people have been so adamantly outspoken about the possible war with Iraq I consider it apropos to exercise my civil liberty of freedom of speech and add my two cents. I have watched on television massive global protest of people advocating peace and condemning a possible war with Iraq.

I am so distant from the actual problems the content of this feature article may be worth less than two cents. How can I possibly know how much danger Iraqs military arsenal poses to the middle east Arab nations?

It is the responsibility of the United Nations inspectors to make a fair assessment of danger posed by Iraqs military arsenal to neighboring Arab countries. Hence, I am not prepared to rally to one side or the other. I sincerely hope peace can prevail.

On February 26, 2003, Dan Rather, famed CBS News Anchorman and correspondent, interviewed Iraq President Saddam Hussein for CBS News Television Broadcast of 60 Minutes II. During the interview Saddam Hussein proposed a debate between President George W. Bush and himself to be broadcast internationally by satellite.

Bookmark this page now, than click here to read the 60 Minutes II transcript of Dan Rather’s interview with Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

I must confess that deep down I have developed a twisted sort of sincere admiration for Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. I admire Saddam Husseins fortitude and perseverance in the face of adversity.

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein seems to be very personable and cordial during televised interviews. If Iraqi President Saddam Hussein were an American running for office I may be inclined to vote for him. I have long anticipated that during an amazing moment Iraqi President Saddam Hussein would turn over a new leaf and change his ways to become more cooperative with other Mid-East Arab nations as well as the international community.

The Dan Rather 60 Minutes II interview with Saddam Hussein got me thinking about an idea for a new peace proposal. I wonder if anyone on earth has ever contemplated to date the new peace proposal plan I currently contemplate.

Saudi Arabia has proposed peace may be achieved by an assurance of Iraq President Saddam Husseins safe exile to another neutral country. It is a well-known fact that the United Nations declared that the Iraqs invasion of Saudi Arabias capital city of Kuwait, which sparked the Gulf War of 1990, was a violation of international law.

Since Iraq was declared to be in violation of international law the United Nations penalized Iraq by a declaration of mandatory inspections. The problem is that Iraq has been less than cooperative with weapon inspection teams.

A news analysis broadcast on television reported inspections will not work even if Iraq is 100 percent fully cooperative in allowing inspection teams to search for weapons. Inspections will not work because Iraqs immense rugged geographical terrain is an enormous surface area that allows weapons to be too well hidden from inspectors. Hence, if inspectors are allowed to roam freely from dawn to dusk the inspection effort will be a waste of time and money.

Now we have defined three critical variables most people should agree upon. The three critical variables are: (1) inspections will not work, (2) the U.N. judged Iraq to be in violation of international law by invading Kuwait and therefore the U.N. levied mandatory inspections as a penalty upon Iraq, and (3) Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations have tried to achieve peace by arranging exile of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

An attempt to arrange exile of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein may reflect the fact that neighboring Arab Nations of Iraq still feel threatened by the possibility that Iraq may possess a military arsenal capable of killing millions of innocent citizens within neighboring Arab countries.

Saudi Arabia and other Arab Nations have expressed deep reservations about an United States lead invasion of Iraq. Saudi Arabia and other Arab Nations have an ideological affinity with the radical ultra conservative belief system of Iraqi President Saddam Husseins government and/or regime, depending upon ones perspective.

Despite a possible serious military threat posed by Iraq, Saudi Arabia and neighboring Arab Nations feel uncomfortable about allowing a foreign power with whom is shared a lesser degree of ideological affinity to gain a foothold in a neighboring nation with whom is shared a greater ideological affinity. And that is perfectly okay.

Why should citizens of Saudi Arabia and neighboring nations surrounding Iraq not be fearful? After all, citizens within the United States should never be too snug with the idea that their precious beloved civil liberties and freedom will always and forever more be safe guarded by someone else. We, in the United States, encourage citizens to get lawfully involved in political processes and be well informed to protect our freedoms.

Every society includes (1) radical ultra left liberal elements, (2) moderates, and (3) radical ultra conservative right elements. Every society also includes reprobates possessing intelligence to manipulate ideology to cause chaos and confusion for their own self-interest and personal gain. Reprobates often engage in murder and plunder.

I am not prejudice against people of a different race, creed, ethnic origin, or gender. I am prejudice against reprobates.

Fuzzy boundaries exist between the four ideological categories. The four ideological categories constantly try to woo new members. Anyone with religious conviction may bounce back and forth from ultra conservative to moderate depending upon the religious issue under consideration. The very nature of religious conviction implies a strong ultra conservative stance upon central main tenets related to faith and spirituality. Thus, in some respects every person with religious conviction may be considered ultra conservative.

An Outline of My New Peace Proposal

Given the fact that citizens in Arab Nations surrounding Iraq have a right to feel uncomfortable about a foreign power gaining a foothold in the Middle East I do hereby put forth a new peace proposal.

I propose an United Nations team peacefully take control of the Iraq government. The United Nations team will include government officials and troops of neighboring Arab countries surrounding Iraq. The United Nations team will also include British and American troops.

Instead of demanding the exile of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, why not allow Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to remain in Iraq in a new high-level government position with new types of powers. Iraqi President Saddam Hussein can be appointed in charge of a newly formed Iraqi Commission. Saddam Hussein can oversee that the rights of the Iraqi people to practice their ultra conservative religious faith are not in any way compromised by the United Nations peaceful take over of Iraq.

The United Nations Special Government Delegation will insure that basic fundamental human rights of citizens in Iraq are not violated. No one on earth should be tortured, beaten, starved, and/or murdered.

Ex-President Saddam Hussein can act to insure there will be no forced ideological interference in the chosen lifestyle of the Iraqi people. Ex-President Saddam Hussein can insure financial profit from Iraqs vast oil reserves is in fact placed in a special trust fund to benefit citizens of Iraq, as proposed by President George W. Bush.

Ex-President Saddam Hussein can make special reports via satellite to the United Nations as well as to the Arab League of Nations. A new dignified title will be bestowed upon Ex-President Saddam Hussein reflecting his highly important Iraqi leadership responsibilities.

Ex-President Saddam Hussein can have free run of his palaces in Iraq. As a high-level government Iraqi government official, Ex-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein can come and go as he pleases as long as he does not instigate military insurrection against the United Nations Governing Team.

In his new high level Iraqi leadership position presiding over a newly formed Iraq Commission Saddam Hussein will not have control or influence over military matters and operations within Iraq. Saddam Husseins heirs may serve in the same Iraqi leadership capacity within the newly formed Iraq Commission but will be forever barred from assuming direct command.

If Ex-President Saddam Hussein feels some type of military intervention is necessary he can report his findings to the Arab League of Nations. If the Arab League of Nations are in agreement that some type of infraction is occurring in Iraq under U.N. control than the Arab League of Nations can take the case to the United Nations. The satellite feed provided to Saddam Husseins newly formed Iraq Commission will make reporting of infractions leading toward due process quick and nearly instantaneous.

One of the major criticisms of free democratic societies is that freedom can become a license for immorality. The observation that freedom can become a license for immorality is a very valid criticism of free democratic societies.

President Saddam Hussein can head a high-level government commission that will insure Iraqs laws that preserve morality will remain intact. The special Iraq commission headed by Saddam Hussein will prevent introduction of liberal laws that may allow greater freedom under the new government in Iraq to be turned into a license for immorality.

A Defense of Free Democratic Societies

In free democratic societies many good decent people of various faiths struggle to define literary, artistic, and social merit of various works offered to the public.

No society on earth is perfect. Despite many flaws of free democratic societies one has got to admire openness and willingness of free democratic societies to grapple with profound spiritual issues.

I have given a lot of thought to the term Jihad. After the September 11, 2001 massacre of innocent citizens a huge amount of public information about Islam was disseminated to the public. A huge amount of factual information to prevent misconceptions about Islam was disseminated to prevent misconceptions contributing to wrongful hatred, blame, and prejudice against the Islamic community.

My understanding of the term Jihad is a spiritual conflict with the earthly physical nature of the material world after receiving messages from God in prayer. If the soul of an individual is in a peaceful nonviolent conflict with the world, than the concept of Jihad implies freedom of speech.

God or Allah delivers messages during prayer to guide an individual to change the world for the better in a peaceful non-violent fashion. The great Muslim Prophet Muhammad, who founded the Islamic religion, may have been an early freedom fighter.

The early battles of Islam may have stymied the growth of cruel barbaric practice occurring during the Inquisition. The curbing of unusually cruel barbaric practice occurring during the Inquisition provides solid ground to believe the great Islamic Prophet truly received a Divine message from the Archangel Gabriel. The curbing of unusual cruel barbaric practice occurring during the Inquisition may be considered a great service and contribution provided by Islam. The world may be very different today if Islam did not intervene.

The world has changed. Many centuries ago brute force may have been necessary to survive. Today, there is less need for brute force because of greater material resources. The tremendous oil reserves of the middle east provides revenue to insure survival without resorting to violence.

A Case for War

According to News reports Iraq provides huge financial incentives to families of suicide bombers. Terrorist acts of suicide bombings, germ warfare, etc. have got to be the most cowardly low down abominable practice on earth.

If someone is bent on killing me for any reason whatsoever I would prefer they shoot me between the eyeballs while looking me eye to eye instead of shooting or stabbing me in the back. At the very least every human should be warned in advance of impending danger to his or her life so that they may put on a helmet and take other measures to protect themselves.

Iraqs encouragement of suicide bombing may be justification for war. I just cannot imagine someone eating lunch in a restaurant, riding a bus, or attending school becoming a victim of horrific suicide bombings.

No place, on this earth, exist for this type of terrorism.

Iraq Used in Diplomatic Circles
By the International Community
As a Trump Card
And Political Gun Pointed at
United States

I also have great admiration for President George W. Bush for his fortitude and perseverance in the face of such great opposition pertaining to his assertion Iraq presents danger and must be disarmed. President George W. Bush is upholding the principle of the rule of law. President George W. Bush insist upon firm and decisive leadership.

In the content of my feature article entitled, A Peaceful Non-violent Jihad: A Spiritual Struggle to Make the World a Better Place, I made the following assertion:

If I, as the feet, spur the horse to gallop faster, someone with helping hands, exercising a Divine mission, will pull the reigns of restraint at the proper time such that our galloping horse will reach the destination that God intends. Democracy is a distributive system that orchestrates the balance of power in such fashion as to facilitate positive constructive social progress. In this I have faith, that God will guide social progress.

Our valiant effort to create a better future can only succeed by the grace of God. Success of our valiant efforts to create a better future will be a true miracle. Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny. The human reptilian brain includes an innate natural instinct known to psychologist as the death instinct. We as human individuals have an innate natural tendency to quit, give up, and die.

The necessity of a President to uphold the principle of the rule of law by exercising firm and decisive leadership may be illustrated by a new proposed circus act. A masterful debonair horseman riding a beautiful stallion rides with much grace, splendor, and gallant pageantry into the spotlight. A band of roguish clowns individually try to jump on horseback with the debonair masterful horseman and impishly tug at the reigns.

One can imagine the stallion rearing upon its hind legs, whining, snorting, and turning round and round in circles going nowhere. It is easy to see by this illustration the necessity for a President to uphold the principle of the rule of law by exercising firm and decisive leadership.

My expression of admiration for President George W. Bush fortitude and perseverance in the face of great adversity does not imply my support for the Iraq war. I have grave concerns an Iraq war will worsen dire economic problems currently existing in the United States. Many good hard working people are already hurting because of economic recession.

Dont get me wrong. I have the utmost respect for brave soldiers who serve their country and put their lives on the line to defend freedom. I believe soldiers should be repaid with respect as well as monetary rewards.

During time of war economic resources are rechanneled. Why should people who do not have the ability or inclination to go off to war be penalized? Many people who voluntary enlist are the type of people who skydive, climb Mount Everest, and take similar kinds of personal risk.

In my feature article entitled, Constructive Dialogue to Examine Future Quagmire of Immense Perplexity, I made the following poignant observations:

Should we embrace war to simply validate the meaningfulness of life? Should we embrace hardship by clinging onto outdated old-fashioned less-efficient manufacturing methods for the sake of proving our incredible inner-strength to endure hardship?

Bookmark this page now, than click here to read, Constructive Dialogue to Examine Future Quagmire of Immense Perplexity, currently published on the message board provided by the National Science Teachers Association.

It is always possible that an overemphasis upon war combined with over taxation may degenerate into payment of protection money.

I have grave concerns war with Iraq may potentially turn into a fiasco in terms of loss of life and loss of precious economic resources to sustain the quality of life at home and abroad. The United States may get the blame if an Iraq war should turn into a major human catastrophe.

According to news reports, Iraq President Saddam Hussein is currently surrounding Bagdad with explosives laden with deadly lethal chemical agents capable of killing millions of people within the Bagdad region. It sounds like a nightmare ready to happen. Hence, I recommend extreme caution. It is reasonable to suspect that a disaster may have been deliberately planned to cause the United States to loose creditability within the international community.

My peace proposal insures (1) ultra conservative values of Iraq will be preserved, (2) Iraq will continue to control tremendous wealth generated by its oil reserves, (3) peaceful United Nations intervention which includes Arab officials as well as delegates of all concerned U.N. Nations who will help the Iraq people form a more cooperative less threatening government, (4) the development of greater stability in the middle east, and (5) allows Iraq Leader Saddam Hussien to play a vital role by heading a newly formed high level commission.

My peace proposal nearly eliminates all the major sociological problems pertaining to introduction of greater stability in the middle east. If Iraq does not find this peace proposal acceptable, and a human catastrophe occurs resulting in the death of millions of people than Iraq will bear the ultimate responsibility for the carnage. It will not speak well of Iraq to sacrifice the lives of millions of people when nearly all the major objections to United Nations guaranteed disarmament have been removed.

I cannot fathom why the United States is getting so very little support from Middle East Arab Nations that have been engaged in military conflict with Iraq. The United States spent billions of dollars to fight side by side with Osma Bin Laden to repel a communist invasion of Afhganistan. At that point in history it was felt that communism posed a serious threat to the religious freedom of citizens within Arab Nations of the middle east.

I simply cannot fathom how everybody seems to have completely forgotten how we, people of the United States, helped protect the religious freedom of all Arab citizens.

And, how do we get repaid? Our World Trade Center is demolished. I simply do not understand the politics of the region. Obviously, I am not the only one or else lawmakers in the United States would not have made these mistakes.

My understanding is that Arab Nations requested assistance from the United States during the Gulf War to help repel an invasion of Iraq troops from Kuwait. If the huge Gulf War financial investment of billions of dollars in the safety and welfare of citizens in neighboring Arab countries surrounding Iraq was not truly necessary perhaps the United States and other participating countries involved in fending off the Iraq army should be repaid.

The process of International Diplomacy involves strategizing to form alliances to gain positions of power. The act of strategizing to form alliances to gain positions of power is a type of game playing.

Famed Psychologist Eric Berne provides a discourse on game playing in his Psychological theory of Transactional Analysis. Game playing pervasively occurs in interpersonal relationships.

Game Playing has great potential to steer diplomacy in the direction that the majority are wrong and the minority are RIGHT. The Rule of Law adds complexity to the balancing act upon a high tight rope human civilization must do to survive.

Commitment to Protect Muslim Ultra Conservative Values of Iraqi People

It is amazing to reflect upon how interwoven our lives are.

The Catholic Church sex abuse scandal demonstrates the vulnerability of conservative institutions to liberal laws that allow morally questionable practices to flourish. The vulnerability of religious leaders serving within conservative institutions working in societies where liberal lax permissive laws allow morally questionable behavior to flourish provides justification of fear.

Citizens living in Middle East ultra-conservative religious societies may have fear concerning spiritual consequences of negative influences allowed by free democratic societies. The Catholic Church sex abuse scandal may demonstrate that individuals as well as institutions can be infected by viral like immorality

All major religions have central themes.

A religious institution needs an authoritarian structure to uphold Gods law. Gods law and morality is not a matter of public debate. Gods law and morality is not something that can be decided by a public poll.

Laws of the Catholic church that forbid priest to marry assert the human spirit can supernaturally triumph over natural physical laws that govern the universe. In a perfect universe the human spirit should be able to triumph over natural physical laws of the universe with Gods help.

However, we do not live in a perfect world with perfect people. Daily exposure to immorality may have a negative effect upon the human spirit.

Another central theme found in most religions is what goes into a man does not corrupt a mans soul, but what comes out of a man can wreak a mans soul and cause complete spiritual ruin. Ultimately, society cannot be blamed for innate sinfulness in-built into the human soul. Free democratic societies encourage individuals to take responsibility for behavior and work on personal spiritual problems.

Strict authoritarian religious structure can create a forced mechanical rote response to developing a better stronger relationship with God or Allah. Spirituality is enhanced by an openness and willingness to explore profound spiritual issues. In a free democratic society human pride is tested and broken down better than in any other more controlled authoritarian society.

Strict authoritarian ultra conservative societies try every way possible to protect vulnerable people. Strict authoritarian ultra conservative societies try every way possible to help vulnerable people dwell only upon what is good and pure. Texts of sacred scripture admonish a person to avoid evil and dwell only upon what is right, good, and pure to overcome sinfulness of the flesh.

Free democratic societies that allow less strict authoritarian more liberal moderate practice of spirituality do not necessarily conflict nor completely diverge from belief systems of ultra conservative societies that exercise more authoritarian control. At some point, free democratic societies that allow practice of more moderate forms of spiritually share complementary goals with ultra conservative religious societies.

An examination of patterns found in history provide support for the belief that God or Allah is actively working to accomplish His Divine will on earth. The Spirit of Truth and Discernment attest that what God has allowed to happen must fit within Gods Divine Plan. Logically, belief in an omnipotent omniscient God or Allah dictates acceptance of the assertion that what God has allowed to happen must fit into Gods Divine Plan.

The Catholic Church canonized Joan of Ark as a saint. Joan of Arks brave actions created a new social and political atmosphere in France. John Locke was from France. John Locke helped shape the ideas of the founding fathers in the United States.

Should we now choose war to destroy what God has accomplished within the human heart? Can we not choose cooperation and commitment to ultra conservative values found within the ultra conservative Muslim society of Iraq? Cannot love for ones neighbor and fellow man prevail?

It is amazing to reflect upon how interwoven our lives are. If not for the brave actions of Joan of Ark, today I may be prohibited from making the following assertion:

My understanding of the term Jihad is a spiritual conflict with the earthly physical nature of the material world after receiving messages from God in prayer. If the soul of an individual is in a peaceful nonviolent conflict with the world, than the concept of Jihad implies freedom of speech.

My writing these complimentary words about the historical origins of Islam may have resulted in myself being drawn on a rack and gutted if not for the brave actions of Joan of Ark.

Oil Producing Nations Should Want Greater Stability in the Middle East

Isolation of Arab Nations from the global community may jeopardize the future of the entire Middle East region. New improved technology can be used as a tool to isolate and separate the Middle East region from the developing world.

Oil Producing Nations
Should Want Greater Stability
in the Middle East

All Arab governments in the Middle East should want to create more stability in the Middle East.

The world is constantly changing. All Arab oil producing nations should have a vested interest in discovery and application of more efficient oil production processes.

Material science is undergoing rapid progress. New emerging technology is creating super strong and lightweight materials.

Super strong and lightweight materials have tremendous application to more cost efficient oil production processes. Super strong and lightweight materials can potentially create virtually indestructible drill bits and oilrigs.

No one knows where, when, or how full assembler based nanotechnology will be discovered. It is plausible that full assembler based nanotechnology may very well be discovered at an Arab University.

The most likely scenario is every nation will separately pursue its own scientific research programs. Eventually, every nation may discover full assembler based nanotechnology on its own accord and timetable.

Central themes are found in all forms of religion. A central theme in most religions is, Am I my brothers keeper.

Instability in the Middle East as evidenced by the pattern of war in that region is an obstacle to building trust, cooperation, and mutually beneficial sharing by scientific research institutions across the globe. No one will ever want to share or cooperate in any form or fashion with a Nation that demonstrates it will use new knowledge to kill the people who choose to share knowledge and new scientific techniques.

Hence, it may take many years to build trust. However, as long as people suffer on this planet, one can be assured Nations will continue to find new ways to increase available material resources.

An increase in material resources leads to greater social stability. Social stability creates stronger societies. People do better when they have the material resources allowing them to function as responsible citizens who make a contribution to the society in which they live. Thus, the world will change rather or not we want it to change.

The future of the Arab region depends upon the ability to (1) preserve traditional Muslim values of giving all due praise and worship to Allah, and (2) learning to adapt to change in the world without compromising traditional Muslim values.

The Spirit of Truth and Discernment attest that Allah has the power to call it quits in terms of continued existence of the entire planet earth at any time. The decision to call it quits should be up to Allah, and not mere human individuals.

Isolation of Arab Nations from the global community may jeopardize the future of the entire Middle East region. New improved technology can be used as a tool to isolate and separate the Middle East region from the developing world.

Scanning Probe Microscopes (STM) are a new class of scientific instrumentation that allow scientist to manipulate and reconfigure molecular bonds in the molecular arrangement of a chemical compounds. Laboratory processes that use to require an entire fully equipped laboratory filled with big bulky laboratory equipment can now be performed with a computer chip.

The new class of scientific instrumentation can make laboratories that produce deadly chemical agents more mobile. The new class of scientific instrumentation may make the job of weapons inspectors, either now or in the near future, a virtually impossible task.

Has Iraq got the new class of scientific instrumentation? The people of Iraq are extremely intelligent. You can bet, if Iraq does not have the new class of scientific instrumentation yet, Iraq is actively working on obtaining the new class of scientific instrumentation.

The United Nations task of increasing stability in the Middle East is about to become more difficult with each passing day.

United States Raked Over the Coals in United Nation Judicial Proceedings

Drone aircraft and illegal missiles uncovered by Weapons Inspectors fail to contribute to a body of evidence establishing reasonable doubt that Iraq is not currently engaged in secretly preparing an arsenal of deadly chemical agents.

Can someone explain to me why the United States of America is on trial in the current United Nations Judicial proceedings concerning possible war in Iraq. I simply do not understand how blatantly obvious glaring facts seem to be overlooked in the United Nations Judicial proceedings concerning a possible war in Iraq. The United States is currently being raked over hot coals in the United Nations Judicial Proceedings.

As I remember, Iraq President Saddam Hussein once claimed the United Nations is dominated, controlled by, and exist as a puppet of the all-powerful United States superpower. On the contrary, recent United Nations deliberations seem to demonstrate that Iraq is in control of the United Nations.

Iraq has engaged in a pattern of military aggression in the Middle East that eventually lead to an United Nations legal provision for weapons inspections to disarm Iraq. Iraq has the burden of providing prove that Iraq is in full compliance with United Nations provisions lawfully mandated by the United Nations in the 1990s to insure full and compete military disarmament of Iraq.

In the 1990s weapons inspections failed and the U.N. weapons inspection team was cast out of Iraq. The most recent effort to reestablish the United Nations Weapons Inspection process has lead to the discovery of illegal missiles and drone aircraft capable of carrying lethal biological agents.

Iraq must establish reasonable doubt that it is not currently manufacturing lethal deadly chemical agents to be used in a military attack of its Middle East neighbors. Drone aircraft and illegal missiles uncovered by Weapons Inspectors fail to contribute to a body of evidence establishing reasonable doubt that Iraq is not currently engaged in secretly preparing an arsenal of deadly chemical agents. Iraqs possession of illegal weapons does not help Iraq establish reasonable doubt of future aggressive Middle East military actions.

I feel sorry for the United Nations Inspection Team lead by Hans Blix. The weapons inspections team lead by Hans Blix is in the hot seat. The lives of millions of innocent people rest in the hands of the United Nations Inspection Team lead by Hans Blix.

In my freelance feature article entitled, Oil Producing Nations Should Want Greater Stability in the Middle East, I discuss a new class of scientific instrumentation that Iraq may soon acquire. The following is a highly relevant excerpt:

Scanning Probe Microscopes (STM) are a new class of scientific instrumentation that allow scientist to manipulate and reconfigure molecular bonds in the molecular arrangement of a chemical compounds. Laboratory processes that use to require an entire fully equipped laboratory filled with big bulky laboratory equipment can now be performed with a computer chip.

The new class of scientific instrumentation can make laboratories that produce deadly chemical agents more mobile. The new class of scientific instrumentation may make the job of weapons inspectors, either now or in the near future, a virtually impossible task.

The United Nations Inspection Team should also consider that, in addition to making laboratories more mobile, a new class of scientific instrumentation may dramatically speed up rate of manufacture of lethal chemical agents. Eventually, Iraq may be able to produce gallons of the deadly chemical by the minute.

What will happen when an Ultra Conservative Religious State that feels increasingly isolated from the rest of the developing world acquires new scientific instrumentation that allows the isolated nation to dramatically step up production of deadly chemical agents is something to ponder. Hence, my peace plan provides for a provision for special high level government commission to insure protection of ultra conservative religious states from negative effects of democratization. An assurance of protection from negative effects of lax permissive democratization upon Ultra Conservative Religious States may prevent Ultra Conservative Religious States, like Iraq, from becoming isolated due to feeling pitted against the developing world.

The CBS News Broadcast 60 Minutes aired an episode about how the old Soviet Union during the height of the Cold War constructed a special nuclear weapons manufacturing facility hidden inside a mountain that produced an atomic bomb every hour. The nuclear bomb manufacturing facility was so automated that bomb production processes could not be stopped at the end of the Cold War.

Eventually, the old Soviet Union asked for technical help from the United States to safely dismantle the nuclear bomb manufacturing facility. Today, Russia and the United States works as a team on the space laboratory.

Perhaps, the United States is being raked over the hot coals in current United Nations diplomacy because of a perception of unnecessary meddling in Middle East affairs. The United States may be perceived as interfering in political affairs of the Middle East.

Obviously, United States lawmakers have made severe diplomatic mistakes in Middle East diplomatic affairs. The diplomatic mistakes that U.S. lawmakers have made in the Middle East region is in large measure due to the specific forms of government in the region.

Why does the United States feel it has the right to intervene in affairs of the Middle East? The Middle East region and the United States have a business relationship characterized by mutually supported interdependency. As customers who purchase large volumes of Middle East Oil, the United States spends vast sums of money in the Middle East.

It is widely recognized that large sums of money can lead to corruption. Lawmakers may feel a need to insure that the spending power exercised in the Middle East is not abused to jeopardize and endanger Middle East citizenship. U.S. lawmakers may feel a moral imperative to insure that vast sums of money spent in the Middle East is not used to compromise the lives of innocent citizens.

The politics of the Middle East region is very complicated. Government of the Middle East primarily exist as Ultra Conservative Religious Monarchies. Ultra Conservative Religious Monarchies do not provide an adequate system to allow transition of governmental authority and power when an Ultra Conservative Ruling Monarchy must be replaced for some natural reason.

Often, because a system providing for an ordered transition of government is not in place, vying political factions seeking governmental rule attempt to take control by forceful methods. In the case of Iraq, the United States helped Iraq President Saddam Hussein capture the thrown of Iraq. Obviously, United States lawmakers made a mistake and back the wrong horse.

Lawmakers in the United States are human. Lawmakers in the United States make human mistakes. Despite advanced scientific data gathering technique, lawmakers still do not have the power to predict the future with 100 percent accuracy. The power to predict the future with 100 percent accuracy is still reserved for an all-knowing Omnipotent God or Allah.

Free democratic societies are not perfect. At some point, the goals of Ultra Conservative Religious States and free democratic societies merge. My feature article entitled, Commitment to Protect Muslim Ultra Conservative Values of Iraqi People, provides a discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of Ultra Conservative Religious States versus Free Democratic Societies.

Bookmark this page now, than click here to read the feature article entitled, Commitment to Protect Ultra Conservative Values of Iraqi People, currently posed on www.ideamarketers.com.

The degree that Ultra Conservative Religious States and free democratic societies share common goals is debatable. A special high level government commission can study how to protect Ultra Conservative Religious States from the negative aspects of democratization. High level government commissions can be used as a tool for peace.

My understanding is that even while Osma Bin Laden fought to repel a communist invasion of Afghanistan with military help of the United States, Osma Bin Laden clung to hatred of the lax permissive free democratic government of the United States. It is unfortunate Osma Bin Laden did not recognize diplomatic methods to protect Ultra Conservative Religious Muslim States of the Middle East from negative effects of lax permissive democratization.

Presentation of Proposed New Peace Plan that May Save Millions of Lifes

A proposal for a new peace plan that potentially can save millions of lives has been submitted to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee and Academic leaders for nomination in the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize competition. Nobel Peace Prize

ATTENTION
Noble Peace Prize Staff and Academic Leaders,

I am writing to request my proposed new Not-for-Profit organization, Wonderful Life Foundation, be nominated to receive the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize. My understanding is nomination for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize requires a motion from a qualified Doctorate level PhD officials.

I believe the American taxpayer should be repaid for the vast sums of taxpayer money poured into numerous Middle East conflicts. The poor and working class citizens within the United States of America spent billions of American taxpayer dollars to fight side by side with Osma Bin Laden for the purpose of protecting religious freedoms of all Middle East Arab citizens from a communist invasion of Afghanistan.

I intend to use the Nobel Peace Prize monetary award to (1) help lower an extremely high escalating cost of living in America by reduction of mortgage interest rates, and (2) finance scientific research performed by institutions and corporate entities truly dedicated to improving the lives of people by discovery of new highly efficient production methods that have great potential to better the human condition. Institutions and corporate entities that are purely profit driven to cheaply manufacture a new product and sell at a high cost will not be eligible for the new proposed Wonderful Life Foundation Socially Responsible Scientific Research Incentive.

Please find below URL links to freelance article content outlining a new Middle East Peace Plan that could potentially save millions of lives. My proposal for a new Middle East peace plan provides for (1) assurance of peaceful United Nations disarmament of Iraq, and (2) formation of a new high level Iraq commission that will insure protection of the ultra conservative Muslim values of all Iraq citizens.

My Peace Plan may fail. However, my new proposed Not-for-Profit Foundation, Wonderful Life Foundation, deserves to win the Nobel Peace Prize for at least trying to find a peaceful solution to the Iraq conflict imposed upon the Middle East.

I want to remind everyone that past winners of the Nobel Peace Prize include Palestine Leader Yasser Arafat, Shimon Peres, and Yitzhak Rabin. Perhaps, the effort of these men to achieve peace in the Middle East was indeed sincere. Obviously, the effort to bring peace to the Middle East by all three men has failed. My peace plan may fail too, however, at least I tried.

Bookmark and/or save this page then click here to review the Noble Peace Prize Award of 1994, posted on the web site of the Nobel Foundation.

I believe in the Sovereignty of Israel and formation of a new Palestine State. The fact is that both Israel and Palestine are strict authoritarian ultra conservative religious societies that are aligned in opposition to the lax permissive free Democratic American Society. Also, the strict authoritarian belief system of ultra conservative religious societies in the Middle East appeals to highly conservative political factions within the United States.

The ultimate effect of the constantly repeated rounds of attack, retreat, and attack again is to perpetuate violent conflict and to cut a hole in the pants pocket of America. The poor and working class citizens of America spend billions of taxpayer dollars only to perpetuate war and bloodshed in the Middle East.

A highly relevant truism from days of old is, the truth shall set you free. The international community is using the entire Middle East region to keep America weak.

The international community is working to prevent the United States from gaining a technological competitive edge. Ultra conservative societies may fear a technological competitive edge may contribute to the making of an even more morally permissive free democratic society.

A weak American society is vulnerable to illegal criminal activity associated with pornography and drug use. Oftentimes, illegal criminal activity associated with pornography and drug use is introduced into American society by foreign powers. Pornography and drug use contribute to the making of psychological cripples that become a burden to American society.

Lawmakers in the United States and diplomats around the world participate in the game to have an important job. Please find below e-mail I have sent to President George W. Bush and secretaries for the United Nations Security Council trying to peacefully resolve the Iraq conflict. I have also informed numerous peace movements about my new proposed Middle East Peace Plan that potentially could save millions of lives.

ATTENTION
PsySR Management Staff,

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a concentration of course work in computer science, data processing, physiology, biology, and information systems.

As a Psychology grad, I have written three feature articles pertaining to fear of free democratic societies maintained by ultra conservative religious societies of the middle east. MY FEATURE ARTICLE CONTENT CONTAINS A NEW PROPOSED PEACE PLAN THAT POTENTIALLY COULD SAVE MILLIONS OF LIVES.

In response to the quote posted above from the web site of Psychologist for Social Responsibility, the following excerpts from the two freelance feature article I wrote are very pertinent:

In my feature article entitled, My Two Cents: A Peace Proposal No One on Earth May have Contemplated Yet, I explore fears ultra conservative societies may have in relation to western culture.

My new Peace plan providing a provision allowing Iraq President Saddam Hussien to head a new high level government commission may allow the Iraq leader to demonstrate his sales skill by allowing the United Nations Team (consisting of Ultra Conservative Arabs from neighboring regions) to make a huge financial investment in the Iraqi infrastructure. Iraq President Saddam Hussien can boost he caught a big fish. Thus, my new peace proposal prevents anyone from feeling humiliation.

However, war will bring great humiliation. The following quote from one of my feature articles is very significant:

My peace proposal nearly eliminates all the major sociological problems pertaining to introduction of greater stability in the middle east. If Iraq does not find this peace proposal acceptable, and a human catastrophe occurs resulting in the death of millions of people than Iraq will bear the ultimate responsibility for the carnage. It will not speak well of Iraq to sacrifice the lives of millions of people when nearly all the major objections to United Nations guaranteed disarmament have been removed.

Please recommend my feature article content to a online or print media company for possible publication.

Please let me know if Psychologist for Social Responsibility may be interested in publishing my articles either online or in print publications. I am providing my content for free in exchange for (1)a byline, (2)recognition as a contributing freelance writer, (2)notification of where and when my freelance feature article content will appear so that I can build a writer portfolio.

Thank you

Sincerely,
Mark

Freelance Feature Article Content
Outlining a New Peace Plan
That Can Potentially Save Millions of Lifes

I would like to submit a freelance article I wrote that contains a new proposal for a Middle East peace plan. The proposed new middle east peace plan is described in my letter below addressed to President George W. Bush.

The most recent feature article explains tenets included in my new peace plan submitted to President George W. Bush. The most recent article is entitled, Preservation of Idealogical Integrity of Nations Where United Nations Must Intervene.

The URL link is: http://www.ideamarketers.com/library/article.cfm?articleid=18471&wherefrom=RESULTS

Summary of main theme:

The concept of high-level government commissions to preserve ideological structure in nations where the U.N. may need to intervene may be a concept that can ease fears of an ideological take over. Every society should have the freedom to maintain values they as a people hold dear. P> Preservation of the ideological integrity of ultra conservative societies may help prevent formation of a one world government.

Please let me know as soon as possible if United for Peace and Justice is interesting in publishing my freelance feature articles either online or in print.

My freelance feature article is currently available through the writer-publisher exchange service, www.ideamarketers.com.

My freelance feature is available at no cost. Stipulations include: (1)an author byline, (2)recognition as freelance contributing writer, (3)notification of when and where my article will be published so that I can create a portifolio of my writing.

I can e-mail the html if this is necessary. Just let me know via e-mail.

The link to my article is posted below, but here is the link again, just in case:

Sincerely,
Mark _______________________________________

Dear Mr. President,

On February 26, 2003, Dan Rather, famed CBS News Anchorman and correspondent, interviewed Iraq President Saddam Hussein for CBS News Television Broadcast of 60 Minutes II.

The 60 Minutes II interview with Iraq President Saddam Hussein inspired me to write a freelance feature article entitled, My Two Cents: A Peace Proposal No One on Earth May have Contemplated.

In the content of my feature article I outline a proposal for a new peace proposal that to my knowledge has not yet been contemplated.

My new Middle East Peace proposal can be found at the following URL:

http://www.ideamarketers.com/library/article.cfm?articleid=18417&wherefrom=RESULTS

The following is a summary of the major strength of my new proposal for peace in the middle east:

My peace proposal insures (1) ultra conservative values of Iraq will be preserved, (2) Iraq will continue to control tremendous wealth generated by its oil reserves, (3) peaceful United Nations intervention which includes ultra conservative Arab officials from neighboring nations as well as delegates of all concerned U.N. Nations who will help the Iraq people form a more cooperative less threatening government, (4) the development of greater stability in the middle east, and (5) allows Iraq Leader Saddam Hussien to play a vital role by heading a newly formed high level Iraqi commission.

If Iraq Leader Saddam Hussien does not want to participate in this peace plan, than a newly formed Iraq commission can be created to include ultra conservative Muslim officials from neighboring nations without participation by Saddam Hussien

It will not speak well of Iraq to sacrifice the lives of m
